Free QR Code Reader

Upload a photo or scan with your camera — decoded locally in your browser, nothing uploaded anywhere.

Everything happens on your device

Both the image upload and camera options decode entirely client-side, by reading pixel data from a canvas — no image or video frame is ever sent to a server. For how QR codes actually encode data, and why a code that links to a short link is more flexible than one encoding a destination directly, see Understanding QR Codes: A Practical Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my image or camera feed uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding happens entirely in your browser using the image's pixel data — nothing is sent to PocoLink's servers or anywhere else. Closing this page discards everything.

Why does camera scanning need permission?

Browsers require explicit permission before any site can access a camera — this is a browser-level security control, not something PocoLink can skip. Permission is only requested when you click "Start Camera," never automatically.

The scan found text, but it looks like a link — is it safe to open?

Not necessarily. A QR code can encode any destination, including a malicious one. Treat a scanned link the same way you'd treat any unfamiliar link — check it with the Link Preview & Expander tool before visiting if you're unsure.

Why didn’t it detect anything in my photo?

Common causes: the code is too small or blurry in the image, there’s glare or low contrast, or the photo is cropped so part of the code (including a corner finder square) is missing. Try a clearer, more direct photo.
